About
Learn more about the collaborative COSEA project!
With COSEA, we create an interactive toolkit, that can be put to direct use by everyone close to the sea. COSEA covers a wide range of aspects of marine observations, from human-driven impacts like infrastructure, pollution, or blue economy to the natural world like biodiversity, habitat development and marine protected areas. We all can work together in COSEA to create knowledge, record problems and help local initiatives as well as policymakers to base their decisions on real situations.
The goal of the COSEA app is to create a flexible and wide-spectrum toolkit, that allows people to monitor marine environments, developments and impacts, and record observations on location directly via Smartphones and mobile devices. Secondly, the app toolkit provides an interactive platform, which enables community building and communication.
COSEA is the outcome of two projects, funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe programme. Two consortiums are working together to create a modern, communication-rich and scaleable Citizen Science and Public Engagement toolkit, that can be co-used by other stakeholders and organizations.
